Tansy Seeds
Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) seeds.
These seeds are:
- Perfect for pollinators including bees
- Grown organically with no pesticides or herbicides.
- Harvested from the Forest of Flowers site in Huby, North Yorkshire.
Official RHS 'Plants for Pollinators' - identifying plants which support wild bees and other pollinators in decline.
This striking and distinctive-looking flower doesn't have typical petals, but 'disc florets'. Much like daisies (which are in the same family - Asteraceae), they have composite flowers - each 'button' is not just one flower but hundreds, offering an abundant nectar source for pollinators.
Tansy is a late-flowering plant, offering food for a huge range of insects until October, including various types of beetle, such as the endangered Tansy beetle.
Sow: March - May, September - October
Flowering months: July - October
