About the event

For those who spend time outdoors, recognising trees by their leaf or flower can be second nature, but in winter it's a different story altogether.

Join Alwyn Craven, Kew-accredited horticulturalist, for a guided walk through the Forest of Flowers, where you’ll learn to identify our native trees in winter using just buds, twigs, bark and overall form. The woodland contains 30+ native tree and shrub species, with plenty of variety and lots of talk about.

Our walk will be 1.5 - 2 miles through flat but uneven terrain - we recommend sturdy/waterproof footwear such as walking boots or wellies. The session is suitable for beginners and no prior knowledge is needed.

Tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes will be provided after the walk, included with every ticket.
