Join this volunteer session and help us create a lasting wildlife haven, perfect for pollinators!
Courtesy of Biodiversity UK, we're lucky enough to have 1,000 Dog Violet plug plants ready for use in our woodland.
As our 42,000 trees grow, we need to plant shade-tolerant species like Dog Violet to maximise biodiversity under the woodland canopy.
Planting these violets will offer food and habitat for pollinators, including butterflies. The Silver Washed Fritillary, for example, is a stunning but rare butterfly species in Yorkshire whose caterpillars rely on violets as their food plant.
You don't need any former knowledge to take part - all required instruction will be given on the day. You would just need:
