About the event
Dawn Chorus Walk
For just a few weeks of the year, we have an incredible opportunity to witness the UK's dawn chorus in all its glory. This guided walk will offer the chance to experience a true wildlife soundscape within our woodland and wildflower meadows.
We'll be in prime position for dawn and then listen as the Forest of Flowers comes to life with a wonderful chorus from the resident birdlife. We'll be joined by wildlife expert Keith Gittens, who will help us to identify the different bird species from their song.
The Forest of Flowers' native tree and wildflower species provide an ideal wildlife habitat. We are lucky enough to have a huge range of bird species including:
- Blackcap
- Chaffinch
- Chiffchaff
- Coal tit
- Dunnock
- Goldfinch
- Great tit
- Long-tailed tit
- Marsh tit
- Nuthatch
- Reed bunting
- Song thrush
- Whitethroat
- Willow warbler
- Wren
Tea and coffee will be provided after the walk.
All ticket sales will support our conservation work here on the Forest of Flowers nature reserve.
