About the event
Discover the joy of traditional basket weaving in a calm space, surrounded by nature.
With friendly guidance from tutor Heather, and natural materials from the Forest of Flowers, this day course will show you how to shape willow into something both useful and beautiful. By the end, you will leave with your own rustic willow basket and the satisfaction of having made it yourself.
The workshop will take place in the Forest of Flowers orchard, surrounded by trees and birdsong. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the 100-acre wildflower habitat and woodland during our breaks.
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as those who love to weave and explore different techniques. All you need is some manual dexterity and curiosity!
All tools and materials provided. Willow is grown and harvested on-site at the Forest of Flowers. In advance of the workshop, the willow will be soaked and ready for use.
